So apparently the (very confusing) website CableTV used my Tobias Paper Doll for this cereal artwork without permission. Sadly, this kind of shameless rip-offery happens to a lot of people’s artwork online (as well as by stores like Forever 21 and designers like Todd Goldman). Some design school drop-out is too lazy to make something original and instead swipes some artists’ work online, thinking no one will notice. It’s so lame and just blows my mind everytime I hear about it. Why steal someone else’s work? It only takes a little extra work to make something original instead. And in this case, why not just use a photo of Tobias, like they did on the other boxes? So lame.
Time to write a strongly worded letter written by nothing but natural light…
WHY AREN’T THESE REAL THINGS?
I would buy all four, even though I’d be a little hesitant to eat the Tobias cereal.
